Shamelessly copied from the retro rides 'abandoned' thread. There is a nice splitty and a few bays in there :'( tp://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/536003_469588503087558_1730204217_n.jpg" /> 64_724898090_n.jpg" /> c="http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/542050_469599253086483_773410168_n.jpg" />
I hate seeing stuff rotting away like this. Congrats on winning the longest post in history award also
So thats where all the pick ups are - :'( Mrs B wants a trip to Scotland now, with a convoy of recovery trucks and some very deep pockets :laugh2:
i could spend a week in there So who going to be brave enough to reply with a quote of the first post
omg i know people like this and they would rather see it rot in to the ground than sell anything . my mechanic has a yard like this and he has some cracking stuff .ive tryed buying four escort vans off him and reply is i dont to sell anything i cant understand people like this that guy must have million pounds worth of gear in that field in scotland
I want half the stuff in that yard! I tell you what, if someone distracts him, a couple of us could nip in with loader. Matty, show him allure. We'll sneak in around the back.
I would love to rescue some of the cars & vans but the reality would be that I would get one home then realise i didn't have the time/money/both to be able to restore them and they would continue to rust away! (I know it was the longest post ever!!)
As the son of a scrap metal merchant, that has taken me back to being a kid, my dad would pay £35 quid for anything driven in and £20 if he had to come and get it. I remember people driving in thier MOT failures and I would rake through the interiors looking for money. Some of the stuff that was brought in would be worth a fortune now, I recall a late 60's razoredge coupe with a dinted door and four bald tyres, dad offered £30 because nobody wanted spares from it and the bloke took it. Its interesting to see how the British Leyland stuff has almost rotted into the ground despite being younger than the stuff around it. Great post
