a couple of strange questions

    Blocked idle jet/circuit?
    But what you describe sounds also like a weak spark problem.
     
  2. i did take the plugs out and cleaned and rechecked the gaps , but i have got a new set of plugs on the way to eliminate that .
    just check the gaps are .028"or 0.7 mill ???

    got some new stock leads on the way aswell , although the ones that are on are only about 18 months old and were fairly posh thicker ones , forget the make but they were about 3 times the price of stock leads
     
  3. carb was cleaned rebuilt and everything was squeeky clean will all jets cleaned and blown through a couple of times , plus a different carb i borrowed that was supposed to be a good one gave the same results

    I'm with zed, but I would've said accelerator pump jet or weak spark!!
     
  5. well thanks guys ive got some bits and bobs on the way to eliminate a few things so gonna try them and see how i get on .

    always a good place to get help with your pride and joy :)

    Is this what happens if the idle cutoff valve is shut?. Either jammed or no 12 volts feed. Then you try to setup the carb in that state. So it struggles to develop enough air flow to get the main jet to cut in ...
     
  7. Right had a good day on the bus today trying to eliminate these annoying problems .

    Its finally somewhere where it should be now :beer:
    Not 100% sure exactly what it was but im kinda thinking it was the fuel pump ( bloody annoying as this was only about 12 months old and hasnt exactly covered many miles 500 ish maybe ? )

    this is what i changed for new stuff along with checking all the tolerances yet again

    1.spark plugs ( no change )
    2.leads ( no change )
    3.new elecy svda dizzy ( seemed a bit better but still not right )
    4 fuel pump and new rod ( thats more like it :) )

    so i think it was down to a crappy "new" fuel pump even checked the length of the old rod but that was correct .
    Bloody crap parts :mad: yet again .
    not holding my breath on the new one as that was a chinese thing . would go elecy pump but im never too sure on them ??????

    just need to set the carb up a bit better as was only on a basic setting when i drove it and the timing need a little tweak but hopefully all good :)

    ran out of time today to do the fine tweaking as while i was checking stuff noticed a leaky brake cylinder so ended up having to change that !!

    if its not 1 thing its another !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
