    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

The whole getting fit thing is very much easier if you've ever been fit before.

My go: do the whole 5k and get faster every time. Your cardio vascular will lag behind your muscles so just go as fast as your breathing can keep up with. Sprint the last bit even if it's 20 metres then sprint a bit further at the end each time.

    I'll just sit here. :D

  2. No don't sell it , but I do triathlons and find if I don't use it (or milk) I'm not recovered enough to train the next day
    But that's when I'm training 6 days a week.

  3. Well I bought some protein powder this morning
So I'll give it a go.
It says to have one after training and another in the afternoon or vice versa.
Do I really need the second one or is just one after training ok?
On the days I'm not running I'm pushing to do more walking than usual

I'm finding my appetites gone crazy and I'm craving certain things.
Lots of craving for milk and last night it was sardines on toast.

Have you done the "wee on a stick" test?

  6. I would just have the one after training to stop the DOMS

  8. With your increased appetite you shouldn't need a protein supplement, too much protein can be harmful. When training for the fun runs and the one London Marathon I did, I just had more carbs like pasta.

Good diet, varied exercise, starting slow and gradually increasing so your body can cope and adjust.

  9. delayed onset muscle soreness ... I didn't know but google was my friend

  10. Just after exercise, but within 20-30 mins as the body's more able to process.
I find it helps recovery and I don't have time within that window to cook up a meal
See how you go though, everyone's different

  11. I was thinking about protein as I'm starting to lift weights now as a pose to just cardio. Probably lifting about 3 times a week but never really believed in the stuff. Does it really work?

  13. I take syntha 6 when going to the gym regularly, just to be able to allow me to go more often without walking round like a 90 year old.

Running up hills will speed up your fitness massively and make flat runs a breeze
