  5. Well just remember to come back on here when you are famous and get overly defensive.

  6. After the weekends indulgence I've knuckled down.

Monday did aquafit, it's harder than it sounds

    Tuesday combatfit as usual

    Rest day on Wednesday

Tonight I've just been to spinning, and demonstrated just how strong I must be getting when the pedal crank snapped half way through the class!

Thankfully there was a spare bike so I could carry on. And didn't hurt myself when it went with a big bang

  7. You are a different person! Started off all apprehensive and can't do. Now you have the fitness bug and can do. Well done.

  8. Thank you.

It's not been a horrible experience so far, my friends have helped loads, and been very supportive.

The time is passing very quickly and I suspect the event will come around in the blink of an eye.

I'd like to think I can loose another stone before then, but I guess time will tell on that one, getting fitter is the main goal

Not quite in your league but I've been told by my doctor to lose some weight so I'm swimming and cutting out some crap , 9 lb off without really trying, he said I should lay of the bitter, ye right like that's going to happen

  12. Sorry, I missed this before, good work. I'm trying not to deprive myself of everything I like, got to be realistic or I just won't stick with it.

    Keep it up

  13. Today I did something I've been putting off for weeks/ years.

About a month or so ago I registered myself to try out a parkrun, then caught a cold and a good case of procrastination and didn't actually go.

This week I looked at the calendar and realised time is running short, our half tough mudder even is just 10 weeks away today!

So with a mild sence of panic and dread I had a chat with my friend who does the park run every week and arranged to meet them this morning and tag along.

Arranging to meet people stops me dropping out when I decide I would rather stay in my warm bed.

Anyway, we went and Kate and I jogged all the way around, all 5 kilometres. Very slowly, but we did it.

I expected to walk most of it, so I'm really chuffed, if a bit sore in the legs/ feet.

Off out for a family meal tonight but I think I'll treat myself to a beer or 2.

I need a nap first though

  14. Exactly this, I did the above and totally agree you have to commit to this. Having done this and compared it with previous exercising, here is a way to look at it. You could either run every day for two years and make virtually no progress, or commit to insanity and get fantastic results in 2 months. 2 months of hard work and great results, or years of punishment for no gain?
Ps all the people on the DVD are fitness instructors so don't expect to keep up, just do your maximum effort even if that's 2 push ups etc to their 8 for example.

  16. Couldn't agree more. People think 'I can't do that' but if you aim to complete each session without skipping bits and kidding yourself on you'l be fitter than ever. I've done it a few times and each time I've improved so it doesn't matter what level of fitness you are.

If you say I might do it you won't. You have to say I am doing it. Doesn't take long. Either get up an hour early or get it done before bed. Eat lots of good food to fuel your body.
I really need to do it again as I want to shift some fat to tone up. Let it go a bit.

  17. I've been a bit slack at keeping this updated lately, but I've not been so slack at getting out and exercising.

I've done a couple of trampolining classes, dug my pushbike and rode to work twice last week and have been back to the park run 2 more times too. My time has come down each week and from 41.24 the first time to 36.07 yesterday.

I'm also keeping on with the combatfit and spinning classes too.

Got 5 sessions in this last week and I'm feeling better for it. Just as well really, less than 7 weeks to go now!!

Great work everyone else who's fighting their own fitness battle too

That's why I enjoyed running I think, you get faster without really trying to, it's proof positive you're getting fitter? I think it's time I walked up a few hills myself, I don't fancy running any more.

  20. I tried a bit harder at the run yesterday and got faster again, 34.27 this week, i was really surprised to get under 35.

Just the one cycle to work this week, and a lazy bank holiday but I pushed myself a bit more at spinning too. Can feel the extra effort in my legs now so it's go to be doing me some good.

6 weeks now and it'll all be over :)
