They do indeed - and they’re not directional. I’d just have to pay my local tyre place to turn them round if I don’t like the white lettering. Stirlingmoz
Who doesn’t like a bighorn ? BF Goodrich, General Grabber, Kelly etc, all available in a similar size with less embarrassing names. Stirlingmoz
They look great, thanks for sharing it's something I'd like to do in the future to my bus. What does it drive like?
I can now report that it drives absolutely fine. No problems pulling away, no issues with the steering and very little tyre noise. Can’t say I noticed any difference in speedo reading. It sounds and rev counter suggests it’s the same so the difference must be small. It’s only raised up by about an inch but I love the slightly elevated driving position. Stirlingmoz
@theBusmonkey ooooooohh these are near as dammit the same size as a 205R14 but about 1/2"wider though
Cheers I’d appreciate it I was looking at changing to 15 inch wheels and some all terrain tyres As you have more choice in 15 inch but I wasn’t happy loosing some side wall due to the bigger wheels that and the expense of changing wheels and boring out the centres and longer wheel studs etc I saw in the samba off road thread that a few guys are running the same tyres you have gone for So it’s nice to have someone on home soil running them
Hi mate have you put many miles on them yet? How much gap is there between the side wall of the tyre and the rear arch lip?
I’ve done about 500 miles on these tyres now. Absolutely no rubbing issues at the front even on full steering lock. No rubbing issues on the rear either and he’s carried a few substantial loads of gardening / building materials. Logic says the speedo readings should be different but I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference. There is a little bit more tyre noise over stock road tyres but it’s not intrusive. May be less noise in a camper as there’s nothing in the way of sound deadening in the pickup. I’ll try and get you an exact measurement of the rear tyre / arch gap but it may not be until the weekend. Stirlingmoz
