couple of days just putting a topcoat on all the primed areas and fitting new seals and reinstalling the windows. This job was an arse. but it had to be done. All the time in the back of my head 'these will be coming out again and the death job from hell will have to be done yet again when its spray time. Grrrrreat.

Anyway if anyone has trouble getting the seals to stay on the glass while preppping, we used duct tape on the inside side of the seal to hold it in place so when we held the window up to the hole.

Anyway, van is now on the drive, will be under our new cover tomorrow when there is some daylight. Then off restoration duties for xmas then back on it in the new year in our workshop ready for door re-furb and repairs, final rub down and then paint. lots of work lots of fun.

Hope everyone is doing well on their own restores. All the best.

  8. Tackled some of the cooling/heating system today while the ramps were free. Convenient, although to get under, you are on your knees. Nice.

this is the ramp setup, two post lift and there is my rocknroll bed on the floor.

little split, so moved the jubilee back the other way and reconnected by pushing the hose up the connection a bit. Makes sense to me anyway. most of the connections were like this so did the same on each. Got a small hole on one of the exchangers which i am going to fix next week, but the rest of the system is good really. Might fit a light blower motor in line somewhere to push a bit more air through, but just in the pondering stage at the minute.

found this little beauty today too, the rest of the underside is spanking ready for some paint etc, but this bit is not. Obviously.

cant remember why i took this picture, but here is a picture.

just got hold of a 2/3 seat from big rich, nice one. So next week, going to be restoring the cab doors, and setting up some fittings and metalwork for the new seat install. Need to reinstate a passenger bulkhead, so going down to a secret location where somebody has lots of non commercial spares to loot through. Hopefully he is there so i can have a mooch.

Anyway, looking forward to a constructive week.

    All the best.

That green first year 411 needs saving...NOW!!! So does the variant.

  16. Well if you can find a buyer i will fish them out. or take more pics. theres enough of them laying about.

  17. Would love to see more piccies of the type 4s though i'm assuming they are way too far gone to save now.

  19. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Great spot - keep it to yourself. :)
Didn't you get the bulkhead off? Best to cut more than you need and trim it up back home. e.g. take some of the inner B-post with the bulkhead - you'll be able to do a neater job if you're free to decide what you need against your van.;)

  20. yeah took the bulkhead with me, cut it on the seam so i could just line it up easy and level.
