  1. It's all on their website, I haven't actually read it myself yet

  2. Not bad but it was much, much steeper!

  3. You need smoother tyres than that Sarah. I changed my mountain bike from knobblies to city slicks as I never use it off-road and the reduction in rolling resistance was immense.

  4. New tyres are on my list, just got a few more crucial things to sort out first,

Will you be able to bend the mud flaps under to make a motorbike noise like on the old stool grifter?

  8. Not having mudflaps, but I could stick a playing card in the spokes to get the same effect

  9. Noooooooo, think of the power loss through friction. You need PTFE bearings in the wheels too.

  10. More progress, although it doesn't look much in my pictures.

We've moved the log over to my friends garage so he can give me some much needed help, and a kick in the arse to get a move on.

I went over tonight and we made some alterations to the rear end, there's some more bracing to add tomorrow night too.

He's also knocked up a steering column and some spindles for the front wheels so we can get cracking with that.

We also set the ride height and attached some stands to hold it all still and square while we're working on it.

Right @Beaver, speaking as a once proper structural engineer type, the bit along the length attached to the plastic body is going to twist unless the plastic you've braced against is a lot stronger than it looks.
If you made a hoop underneath joining to the one on the other side in line with the rear suspension pivot that would help quite a lot.

Nice bit of curved fabrication BTW.

...and brace down to the one underneath like the top one. That will cut out relying on the plastic to keep it all rigid.

  20. Taa, all constructive input is very welcome.

I've now got some much more experienced car builders helping out. We've talked about it all twisting in the frame and I think they've got a plan for that.

There will be another length of box going across the barrel near the front for the important bits down that end to attach to, i think this is going a bit lower down so we can brace the wheels and steering stuff to it. And also have somewhere to mount the brake pedal and steering box.

There's still seat mounts to fit in somewhere too.
Thanks, however I can't take the credit for that. Noddy made those bits with just a vice and his bare hands!

My friend Chris made the front wheel spindles.
