  1. Look at them all switching allegiances now they know Mr Toad isn't standing. It's like watching a political version of Mike Reid's Runaround kids show.......

So the person that helped get us in this mess is helped out by the other person that got us into this mess to now try and lead us out of this mess

  3. To be fair, the person who got us into mess no1 was Boris, for breaking his own rules and then repeatedly lying about it, despite covid the economy wasn’t in terrible condition at that time, furlough saved thousands of businesses and millions of jobs, employment was still high and interest rates were stable, but granted growth was low. The person who got us into the current mess (truss) was told repeatedly during the hustings by Sunak that her economic policy was wrong, and risked the economy. Again to be fair to him, he’s been proved correct.

On the plus side Sunak is one of the city boys, they’ll approve of him as they know he’s on their side and not ours, although he did apparently meet an ordinary person once when he accidentally bumped into his chef.

Laughable now. The membership chose their leader, the behind the scenes men didn’t like it so they hung her out to dry and are now having a slightly dodgy poll amongst themselves to pick the one they wanted all along. They’re making a mockery of parliament again.

Somebody should lock up tonight and make them all go sit on the naughty step until they’ve learned their lesson.

I do wonder if the lovely Penny ;), will get enough endorsements ( apparently she’s picking up some of Boris’s backers) to go to a vote of the membership and she’ll get in as many might see it as a way of punishing dishy Rishi ( the housewives choice :D) for, as they see it, betraying Boris. Who knows.

  8. In a weird way I think Labour will be pleased with that. As his over riding priority will be to fix the economy as best as he can in the next two years. Unless the next Labour Party conference is hit by an asteroid then they are a shoe in next election and with all the spend promises they need to make good on, they are gonna need to inherit a good tax take with low unemployment.

my concern now is that PMQs will be a snore fest once this initial excitement calms down. Mr Boring vs Mr Equally Boring doesn’t fill me will much joy. If only we could have a bit of scandal for a change.

    Largely as expected!

I don’t think Labour are a shoe in for the next election. If The economy is holding up in 2 years and government is stable then I reckon we’re in for a closer fight.

Besides, labour could yet shoot themselves in the foot!

  10. I don’t see that happening. Kier is very careful not to actually say anything or announce anything or do anything. Bit difficult to put your foot in it if you are basically a mute.

You'll here more than enough about him if the right wing press start to worry about him actually gaining power.
Blair played the game by getting friends with Murdoch.

Anybody, even Jacob Rees-Mogg knows what "our side" wants - money and jobs. But how many on "our side" know how to achieve that? Sunak, with his city boy connections is the best candidate to get the economy back on its feet and if he succeeds in doing that, the money and jobs for our side will soon follow.

And that’s one primary reason they’re difficult to support

  15. You now see them all come out from under their rocks gushing about Rishi after a new ministerial position. Before he was given the chancellors job we'd never heard of him. No one voted for him just a few of his snivelling MP mates, even Liz Truss got more votes. Time for an election.

I thought that was David Icke

Icke believes the universe to consist of "vibrational" energy and infinite dimensions sharing the same space. He claims an inter-dimensional race of reptilian beings, the Archons or Anunnaki, have hijacked the Earth and a genetically modified human–Archon hybrid race of shape-shifting reptilians – the Babylonian Brotherhood, Illuminati or "elite" – manipulate events to keep humans in fear, so that the Archons can feed off the resulting "negative energy". He claims many public figures belong to the Babylonian Brotherhood and propel humanity towards a global fascist state or New World Order, a post-truth era ending freedom of speech. He sees the only way to defeat such "Archontic" influence is for people to wake up to the truth and fill their hearts with love
