I was jealous of everyone's awnings at TE. Thought I'd have a go at making one. I bought 6 x 1.5 metres, so I'll chop it in half and by the time it's all joined and hemmed it'll be the right size. I've got an eyelet tool and lots of spare tent poles and guy ropes. Nice indoor evening project.
    Any tips welcome :)

Was about to embark on a similar project. You say the material is 1.5 m wide but invoice says 1m? Would you mind providing suppliers details….thanks

  3. If you need to pee, pee outwards from the awning, not inwards

Sweet. I keep meaning to make one for ours in the same fabric as the poptop canvas but have yet to get round to it.
Stick some details up as you do it as I'm sure they'll be others interested (including me!).

Yes it confused me. The roll is 1.5m wide and is sold in 1m lumps. I bought 6 x 1m and yes it was continuous. They're on eBay but it's cheaper from their website. Here's the link:

Will do, Jim. I'll start a thread when I've got more to show. Made the gutter clamps today.

Thought i’d make it all shabby right from the off, so in 10yrs time it will look, well, shabby.
Most of this won’t really be seen nor likely ever need being done again.

Should get a bilge pump and use it to flush out the galleries with detergent/water too... I can remember with the engine block on the borrowed parts washer seeing bits of crud come poking out of the bearing oil feeds when I pressurised the oil system with washer solution.

  18. Many years ago building a mates Beetle i used a squeezy bottle and neoprene pipe to flush out the galleries - bit of an eye opener to be honest....
