  1. PS If you’re considering removing all the case plugs for a good clean - don’t. Tapping for new ones is a nightmare.

Except I didn’t buy enough, of course
so the cooker hob will have to wait til next weekend; but at least the propex and the cylinder connections are done.

    Is that about right?

  5. Premium unleaded or boggo standard?

Yeah I would've thought that's about on par - I try to fill up after 200 miles, the gauge is usually down by the empty mark (Red area on mine as it's the later gauge), and I can brim it with about 36-38 litres (£50+ depending on prices at the time) so your £30 to take it over halfway seems fair - although it's not an exact science by any stretch as I'm sure you know!

Tbh, last time I filled it right up, was probably 10 or more years ago. I certainly havnt used it at much in the last 6 years. 4 of those, it was just sat in the garden as we had just moved house snd was waaaay too busy to use it.

Time consuming - one false move and the case is scrap!

  13. Bloody right. Came close a couple of times. Not recommended.

Pity noone does knock-in ally plugs like the originals. Would make it a lot easier.

  14. Waiting for my loctite to arrive, so I can stuff all the plugs back in. Sick of looking at them.

You're making a thorough job of it though, you'll soon forget the pain and misery! :)

  16. I won’t! The dodgy one at the top will play on my mind . The “bung the internal oil gallery up” inner one went surprisingly well, though. We’ll see if it works.

Was only supposed to be a freshen up of bearings, etc. The case is fine (or was ). Ended up buying a new cam, as a proper measure up showed the lobes were worn, even though they looked ok - theoretically losing about 4-5mm of valve lift up the top. Chinese job, but actually looks ok. The cam gear issue doesn’t seem to exist any more - maybe the Chinese cut the gear so sloppily, it doesn’t matter any more…

  17. How many gas taps does a girl really need ;)?

  18. You don't get much for £30 at premium prices :(

No, I know. It’s all Sainsbury’s had going.
Apart from the diesel, most of the pumps had clamps on and ‘not in use’.
