Type 4 2ltr - which oil filter

My wife deals with Euro through work and she hates them. I’m going off then now

 

I’ll be surprised if they are available at the same price again.

The cheapest I could find in Europe were twice the price and then I received an alternative from some unknown manufacturer.

 

They are a nightmare to be fair. They should be at least reigned in a bit for their massive price hikes, which they then give 60% off, to make it a reasonable price. I wonder how many poor suckers that aren’t familiar with it, pay the hiked up prices

 

This is the one with the unnecessary drain back valve...
Why are you all ordering boxes of these when it's not even the right filter?
Just wondered if they have the correct one as well...in stock.

type 4's dont need the drain back valve nornally as the filter is fitted in a way that wont drain.. if its mounted horizontally the oil can spill out of the filter leaving it empty(ish) which some say could cause a problem.... like add on oil pump type arrangement

But at that price I'm happy to fit a good make filter that fits with a redundant anti drain valve..

They are fine, but as the drain back is not needed you might find an alternative that they have in stock.
In practice the drain back valve won't do anything so you don't "need" this particular filter and I was amused to see y'all bulk buying them like bog roll in an epidemic.

Most folk don't seem to have received any...

 

W920/17 is the standard filter. I find the pressure builds up quicker with filters with the anti-drain valve, don’t know why, it just does. And as the valve doesn’t do any harm why not.

 

It's ok, next time @zedders pulls my leg I'll tell him his headphone amp does have gain, after all

I'm hoping they've just subbed in the non-valve version. Nothing lost then really.

 

You’ll probably get a filter with a valve, but it won’t be a Mann.

 

As long as they work. I don't mind more frequent changes - I've got a few spares

 

Problem is, like oil, not all filters are the same.

 

I'll be posting a pic on here before I let one anywhere near my bus. I've just put a new Meyle one on.
