  1. If I remember right, the rolled edges of the original cover we're deeper than the flat, square plate which wouldn't have allowed the adaptor to sit flush without adding more packing. I honestly think there was no other sensible option other than how I ended up. Others may have a thicker packing plate to allow it to fit as you suggest?

  2. And that's why I ended up with the configuration I did

I suppose I could grind the lip down, as I have a spare plate now.

    Any thoughts on this?
I need a jack for work in garage.
I've a little trolley jack but with blocks of wood, it tilts over and generally feels like a toy.
I think I'll need a 3ton trolley jack but.... My bus is stock height and they don't seem to lift high enough.

  9. I got some super-strong double-sided tape. It had an absurd brand name like mammoth or brontosaurus or something. Used the tape to sandwich number plate pads to build out the recess in the reverse side of the badge. I think they were 6mm thick. I was gonna use a wet glue but bottled it as I was convinced I’d make a massive mess.

    Understood sir.
See revised version. 46BBB907-F2F2-4A6D-8BB8-FD84945DC7E8.jpeg The adapter plate now sits much better, with just the supplied spacer, and the oil pump cover ground down to just under a mm below its surface.
    No washers as spacers now.
Thanks for your words of wisdom.
I have no clue what I’m doing.

Changed the oil. It's been in a year and has done, ooh, 600 miles at most, but hey why not?

Looking good. We have learned why some people hate them because they leak ... but others fit them properly. ;)

  15. Done some more wiring on the leisure system, fitted new carpet above the windows on the passenger side, blanket box fitted and rear cupboard in place. Starting to actually look like a camper now.

Anyone that’s got a Waeco CRX50, did you use the wiring tails that came attached to the fridge, or disconnect that and wire directly to the fridge?

I got one of these connectors from AES so if I ever need to remove it I just need to disconnect it:
