The flow everywhere is actually low enough to fit through a pair of e.g. 1.5mm diameter metering needle valves at your chosen pressure. Even 3mm hose is almost overkill.. Not in FI where its circulating cooling fuel.
Well that’s going to look rather sexy. Metal gauge, but i’ll not leave it in situ. The threads on the adaptor are rubbish though. Waited a week from a supposed suppliar (new word). I’ll have to get a Sytec one but they don’t do a version with a male thread. All female, so will need a male/male coupler to connect it. Hmmm more possible leakage points I was trying to avoid. All I can say is make sure all your threads have PTFE on. Just for a life lesson when I pressure tested mine, despite have a taper threaded plug when you take the gauge out and tightening it to max it still leaked, ditto fuel pump. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
I was hoping to avoid tape too, as reports of it breaking off and entering the fuel system. There is a replacement adhesive called Loxeal 58-11. Expensive for its size, but one bottle would probably last a lifetime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Snotty is the pro, but I didn’t go for that setup because it won’t thread in to the Malpassi. You’d need a small bit of hose on a union on the Malpassi, then attach that between it and the rest of your fuel line. I suppose that’s all doable because that small additional hose can be removed when you’ve finished. I was just hoping for a simple permanent solution - which never actually works out for me. I can’t even see myself getting all the unions to thread in tightly and yet at the desired angle. I’m thinking whatever adaptor I use to attach the gauge will only go in situ whilst using the gauge. Think about it - unless you are a complete dibber, tape on the threads can't possibly get into the petrol. Only an idiot would overlap the end of the fitting, which would get cut off as you screwed it in. The problem isn't the tape, it's monkeys misusing it.
Thought about it...considered myself to be well within the ranks of ‘monkey’...looked for alternative. Not much is going my way with this van - I seem to invite trouble, so try and circumvent it in advance = just different troubles arise. Using an adhesive could be equally disastrous. lol You are, of course, correct. NPT are supposed to use tape, apparently, so it just needs doing properly. This adaptor i’ve received though; if someone added tape it would definitely require a “complete dibber” application. Top thread barely accepts a mm of a union. I’d suggest the adaptor is crap . Just chuck it in the bin. I’ve never had problems with NPT sealing, especially into soft castings. No tape necessary.
Hmm, I've had all kinds of problems, so much so that if the fitting is staying it gets welded in with Loctite from the word go!
For those looking at adaptors, i’ll give this one a go and let you know: Softer metal than the junk that arrived yesterday, so that might make for a better connection. "I pity the Fool" My malpassi pressure was adjusted/set by the rolling rd people. Reckon it works out cheaper and less hassle than all the time and cash you've spent on gauges and unions. Plus you get the benefit of them optimising engine running, checking/changing carb jets etc

Cool. So 1/3 of my investment to hopefully perform myself over the years. Here, there & anywhere. Think my engine needs to be kept an eye on and tuned more regularly than yours.
