  2. One thing I forgot after not driving my bus for about 7 years was how tired long highway drives made me and probably more so being older. They are just more work and require more attention. The engine drone and wind noise too. I got used to it again.

    He's only going 100 miles - 2 1/2 hours each way.
I like all the noise it reminds me of where I am and what I'm doing - going fast(ish) in a weedy tin box.

  4. I like it too. It’s a joy to drive and feels like actual driving. Driving on 2 lane state roads around 60 mph isn’t tiring like 4 lane highways at 70+. 100 miles is no sweat. I’m jealous as I’m not on the road yet and I would love to drive my bus in the UK.

    Happy trails to you!

  5. Should be - as of February this year MOT regs state tyres are not permitted to be over 10 years old....

Only to goods vehicle with a maximum gross weight exceeding 3,500 kg.

  8. Tyre age check applies to all vehicles with more than 8 passenger seats, but not vehicles of historical interest, so a bay would most likely not be checked even if it comes in for a lower vehicle size at some point.

  9. Hmm, looks like my MOT tester was telling me lies then, apologies for spreading them!

  15. On the way :( Campsite gave us a tent pitch and we went for take two on the sat morn. Chugging along on the M53, started to lose speed, then a horrible clanking sound. Re-started when the RAC man arrived but sounded horrific. I’ve got a vid if I can upload but doesn’t quite convey the clanking. It looks as tho a metal plate has come loose and got stuck butting up to the crankshaft which can’t be good but not sure if it’s the cause
