First trip in the bus in 7 years - what have I forgotten?!

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by jenannew, May 26, 2021.

  1. It’s a momentous day in our house this Friday... We’re off camping in the bus for the first time in 7 years!! I’ve given it a run out a couple of weekends ago but come Friday we’ll be doing 100 miles on the A roads of North Wales. Anything I should be bearing in mind / taking along just in case? I’m slightly nervous about hills/speed to push up to for a start

Pic just cos I’m excited (ignore the rusty bits!)

Its good you have been out for a trial run - at least you know it basically works.

Oil level every time you start off after filling up with petrol., and first thing in the morning.
Make sure both warning lights come on on the dash when you first turn the ignition key on in the morning.
Stop quickly if either warning light suddenly comes on.

Enjoy it , take it easy, dont forget to go for a lower gear and high revs on hills rather than lugging it. 40mph in 3rd or 20mph in second are happy speeds. Lots of cooling air, not revving too hard.
