I’m having the AZ jab tomorrow – in France. Take up of any vaccine is poor in Europe and some would rather have Covid than AZ. Bonkers.
We're getting our second ones on Sunday. I thought I heard an expert say that no one has been affected by the second dose. It was the first one which allegedly gave problems and if you survive that, then you're ok.
Having *******ed out about a pint of blood from a tiny cut today, I can conclude that the AZ jab doesnt cause blood clots... get jabbed up folks, its got my seal of approval.
And yet the powers that be still want to stop it being exported to countries that will actually use it. As you say, bonkers.
Just make sure you completely relax your arm and let it dangle. It will ache less afterwards if you do (and that's the usual ache for any injection - not specific to covid). Well done for having it
Well done, just remember, you can’t lick random people just yet. You need the second one before you can do that.
I personally don't want the AZ jab. My dad had a stroke due to a blood clot and was admitted to hospital 8 day's after his first injection. Thankfully he's all back to normal now but was a worrying few days for everyone. His GP has advised against him having the second jab.
Relaxing the arm wasn’t a problem but I might have misunderstood when you said about letting it dangle and in retrospect you probably meant my arm. I made the nurse smile anyway.
I’m glad your dad has recovered and I can understand why you don't want the AZ jab. My choice was AZ now or an unknown wait for an alternative and I decided that the risk of catching Covid far outweighed the risk of a blood clot from the AZ vaccine. And who knows whether the other vaccines may have similar but as yet unknown side effects.
Funnily enough there was a cancellation (Pfizer) in Mrs Norris' surgery vaccination session today, so my eldest son got injected. That's me, wife and both sons done now. I'm the only AZ though. My youngest son has been temping for the surgery to help herd people around, so has had both jabs already - as has Mrs Norris
