Will something like this do http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oil-Filter-Sandwich-Plate-Universal/dp/B00470R494 Depending on filter thread size.
'For the VW Type 4 engines, the standard filter cartridge (VW part No. 021 115 351A), is typically of 95 mm diameter and 94 mm length, with a 3/4 inch - 16 UNF screw thread.' My ebay linky - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400293841065?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 - 4 THREAD ADAPTERS SUPPLIED (M18/M20/M22 & 3/4 UNF) It too late now as I've bought one. As mentioned, it's only to notice major movement (the gauges)...
Wont be doing mine for a bit but will post a few pics. Now for the daft questions it has 3 holes all with the same thread. Which is the best one to use? Do need to put anything on the threads? Are sender switches all the same thread? To blank the others off will the bolts supplied do or do they need to butt fit?
Has anyone installed the adapter plate with a 2.0 T4 Engine? Can't see how I can get the oil pressure sender to fit... :-[ Looks like I can only run the temp sender as it protrudes less.
ive fitted the oil temp gauge, engine runs hotter than I expected, but i think the position of the sandwich plate is in the hottest place between the engine and exhaust and i wonder if it reads hotter than it actually is.
