Wales is out of its lockdown, and I’ve never felt so free! Oh. It’s actually very little difference, just be sensible. Apparently it’s people’s ability to confuse the words sensible and selfish that is causing issue, that and leaving schools and unis open. Hey ho.
Given that generally speaking it has been shown that kids of poorer families do worse when home schooling you might consider the educational and mental health benefits outweigh the closure for Covid reasons. That together with the need for parents to also go back to work.
Not disagreeing with that. But if you have something that is spread by proximity - and then you have areas of gathering that have people that are mostly asymptomatic and don't fully understand social distancing, hand washing and don't wear masks - who then go home each night to a diverse range of other physical spaces - its an incubator. I'm not doing schools down - but they are pretty unique in their profiles as the potential 'lungs' for Covid. There is no easy answer - but closing them would have a significant impact.
After repeated flouting of the quarantine rules, I got chatting to a neighbour yesterday about his drinking mate who has a place in Spain and returns here every few weeks and never quarantines, never distances and just flagrantly acting selfishly and risking the potential spread. The neighbour said his mate claims its ok for him not to quarantine for 2 weeks as he is a builder and construction workers are not locked down. I pointed out that the law says if you return to the UK from a banned country, you must quarantine for 2 weeks and isolate from others. This guy flew into Gatwick and came straight here to the neighbour and mixed with their other mates in the house for a drinking party. Sadly this virus will continue to spread due to folks ignoring the law, being selfish and carrying on as if the virus doesn't matter. Living in Spain, the mate would know full well that Spain has a national emergency declared with curfews and travel bans and according to the neighbour his mate is fed up with the strict lockdown over there. Nutter.
Life is a balance of risk, as someone closer to 60 than 50 and with an 11 year old son, I'd rather take my chances having the schools open. Perhaps if you have sailed to war you accept a greater risk than others. Of course not withstanding that as an individual you take sensible precautions to avoid getting yourself killed.
If that’s at the side of the main road between the argan place and Marrakech it could well be. Passed by without a chance to stop so didn’t get a photo. It’s a strange sight isn’t it! I wonder how Morocco is doing with the virus...
I have no idea where exactly ... taken in 2003 on an Exodus Atlas Descent mountain biking holiday. I see they still do the same trip but not sure that the route is the same?
