It's the only way I can drain the roof rack of rain water. The drain holes invariably get clogged with leaves so a bit of sharp breaking at the bottom of the hill at the end of our road throws the whole lot over the front of the van! (just don't do this with the windows open...)

Nearside gutter despite nothing blocking it and parking nose down provides a pint. It's not on my poptop top so must come from under the permanent devon grp skirt...but that's not exactly roof hugging. And my windscreen leaks, I've been meaning to sort that for 4 years.

One of those tasks that seem simple at first, and then you realise that where only a finger can get to for sanding, only a finger can get to for painting!

Only time will tell if various repairs are robust enough to withstand vibrations and water...but at least they can look cool during that process.

  6. I was thinking of putting strips of closed cell foam under the skirt of the Devon, front & rear, to see if that stops water getting underneath it.
Can’t see how it would rise up from the sides.
Might also help prevent those corners rubbing paint away, which is what I discovered on removing mine.

Played with the heat diverter cable, and made my totem pole flap work.
My feet will be warm this winter!
(this is obviously using VW Type 1 engine and heat exchanger capabilities in a comparative sense. 'Warm' is a very loose term, actually meaning 'Less Cold')

It's about enough to keep the windscreen clear and that's it. Hopefully get round to fitting my propex this winter.

  11. Worth it, if you've got gas your van. Could kick myself for not installing my Ebers way back - it's been in a box in the garage for 12 years

Turn it on boost, ten minutes you're sitting there in your underpants...

Mine was installed in a horrible crusty steel box and kicked about for around 7 years. It looked so bad I hadn't bothered to unscrew the lid and look but when I finally did it was pristine inside. :)

  15. Hoiked a load of stuff onto the leisure battery. I'll stuff it all back in tomorrow. Never want to see it again.

I keep having the same issue :(

Put the gasket in soft and springy like cork should feel, check it seals okay..sorted.

After a year (in this ones case) one (the L/H rocker cover) goes hard and kinks like your one has.

Third one down so hopefully Ive sorted it.

Nope, you're catching it on the rockers on approach. 100%. Do a dry run and get your approach sorted and that will never happen again.

These days either glue the gaskets in or trim about 2mm off each end until they lie flat.
