Billions of galaxies and an infinite universe - or are there multiverses? Did you know that galaxies were known as "fuzzy stars" until Hubble discovered otherwise.
the've actually proved? that the building blocks to life are floating around on some asteroids and I suppose as there are the posibility to planets x10 to the power of 24 there could well be aliens but the fastness of space means we'll never meet
We are made of elements, mostly oxygen and carbon which were created by supernovae along with most of the Periodic Table elements.
True. I’d agree that statistically, it’s seems unlikely, but...no hard evidence so far. The thought of us being possibly the only ones in our whole galaxy is...mind boggling...
does beg the question though even if we are the only ones in the galaxy if there is one civilisation per galaxy that still a lot of aliens out there
I think part of the problem is that, given the age the universe is said to be, it's very unlikely that other civilisations would be transmitting during the same period that we are looking for them as they're only likely to be active for a very small proportion of that time.
Could be. But the concept of “transmitting” is a very human one. But, yes, they may have been and gone (as we will one day). ‘Tis the nature of things.
