No large outer sill, hasn't been touched yet, just offered up to see where I need to cut, it does overlap the B pillar, but guess that can be trimmed with final fitting, but just can't work out why the B post is sticking out so far as it is sitting nicely on in the middle sill.
Easiest option would be to cut the flange off which butts up against the top hat by a few mm, it should then fit flush at the bottom of the b pillar where it meets the bottom of the sill.
So I haven’t done anything wrong ? Where does the inner / outer B pillar attach at the bottom. If I trim the B pillar box section this will bring the bottom in, is that correct
Perhaps concentrate for a minute on the flow of the curve on the outer B pillar at the join. I would do that by eye plus see-sawing a straight edge over the join and beyond. More info = easier to decide what to do. I imagine if the inner B pillar didn't have the holes right next to the bend that prevents it swinging inwards you'd have reprofiled that by now and made it all fit. One good thing is if it ends up a little out it won't hamper any door aligning. Plug weld the bottom onto the sill as per James's photo. If I can find my tape I'll go and measure something for you.
That’s helpful, so the B pillar should attach to the bottom of the middle sill just like JamesLey photo, as my panel is different is a differnt shape to that, ignoring the square section for the moment.
It would be interesting to see you inner pillar from a different angle. I've always made that part... and all bulkhead parts... and even worse had to use B outers that were NEVER the right profile - always too curly requiring the bottom inch or so discarding. You seem to have genuine pillar parts? I'd trust their profiles are correct in that case. Anyhow just to give you something else to chew over I've nipped to the car park and done some measuring...though you have to remember I made the parts so they fit. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny the measurements. From chassis face I make it 310mm and 383-385mm to the arrows. That's a RHD Late bay, not the one pictured earlier. I checked offside and nearside and I managed to make them the same + didn't repair the top hats so I have some faith in the shorter measurement.
Here the area trying to fix inc the panels I have. I have taken some measurements and believe that by trimming the b pillar end box this should bring the panel inline with the sill face, fingers crossed.
You'll sort it out, it's close. I'd been thinking the black B-pillar piece was TWO pieces. You probably wondered what I was on about sliding the outer piece down.
Thanks for all your help & suggestions, I will be back on it possible Monday, pictures to follow with my progress.
Right guys, been working on the camper this morning, finally got the B pillar tacked in and lined up. Happy with that
Ooosh looks good that dude.. I have this to tackle on mine soon. Just finishing my sliding door off first Sent from my YAL-L41 using Tapatalk
I’m learning as I go, this was a hit of a headache, but with help from these guys managed to get in on
Finally got a bit of spare time, so done a little bit more on the camper. Tacked in the bottom closing panel.
oops, think I’ve done that wrong, my book shows that panel going over the B pillar, but I think I should have butted it up the the new B panel I just put in...
