  1. Had some spare time today, so done a little more on the camper. Repaired the corner and tacked in the step, not a bad fit at all, pleased with how it’s coming along. Just need to weld up the step , then on with the floor.

I’ve only learned to weld (badly) in the last 2 years or so.

It’s v frustrating or v satisfying depending on how it goes.

    Good luck with it

  7. To be honest, when we saw how bad this van was when it went up on axel stands at our local garage we thought what have we done, but I have learnt a lot and still loads to do, but I believe it’s going to turn out ok and will be worth all the hard work I’ve put into it.

  8. Another few hours on the van today, door step in, seat belt area sorted, just need to give it all a clean and a coat of red oxide tomorrow and thats one side done.

    pics will follow tomorrow.

  10. Should hopefully start the other side next week, so here I go again.
Will need sill / jacking points / arch / floor.

Then I can replace the front.

Will need some attention to the rear section, so will look at that section last.

Could be back on the road this year, fingers crossed.

  12. Oh dear here I go again.

Had a few spare hours so started tackling the passenger side sills.

Removed the outriggers/jacking points and removed the sliding door outer sill (what a mess that was).

Looks like a full side is going to be needed after all

  13. Had a couple of days on the camper, so fitted the middle and inner sills of the sliding door.

Well that was much harder than I thought it was going to be... but it’s done, next job outriggers and jacking points.

  14. did you replace the sill past the c pillar or stop before it?

  15. Replaced the full length, but left the ordinal runner in place as the new panels didn’t include it.

  16. Got a few more hours on the camper, both outriggers in place, just need to clean up a few of the welds then can give them a coat of red oxide. Next job font / rear closing panels.

  17. Right , think I may have made an error, should the outer sill look like this. I have lined it up to the middle sill drainage holes but it want fix to bottom lip , so therefore can’t cage where the B pillar repair is supposed to sit.

I have cut the repair panel but it can be raised up if needed to match the bottom lip, but I just can’t raise the sill high enough to get it right...

    What have I done wrong.....:(

** EDITED - added a couple more pics of the sill position, front and rear. Is the sill in the right place before I continue...

Got your front arch? That might help steer you.
Not sure what the Q is actually, what do you mean by "I have lined it up to the middle sill drainage holes". Makes no sense to me. :)

Nor does this - " can’t cage where the B pillar repair is supposed to sit"

He can’t gauge where the B pillar is supposed to be, maybe.

  20. sorry if it doesn’t make sense, let’s put it another way, is the sill in the right place, before I finish cutting and fabricating the B pillar. Or is the sill wrong. Haven’t removed the arch totally yet, just the area to access the inner arch area.
