Just asking, as someone who knows little about these things, how do you ascertain the condition of the donor scooby engine? Presumably they can have thrashed just like any engine. I have no axe to grind with scooby owners. Good on em. Your bus, your rules.
Bit like any second hand car you take your chances. But once done if engine goes bang then second hand very cheap and as the conversion works been done. Easy to change.
Wow I didn't realise you were as technically capable as you obviously must be, if your attempting this major job Just from reading @pkrboo's scooby thread I've seen how much work goes into fitting a manual subaru, let alone how much work will be required on an auto Hope it goes well for you and any helpers you manage to rope in Look forward to the thread
Did you come to an arrangement with the engine “builder” or have you just written it off as experience?
I got a full refund of what I paid for the engine. The ‘other’ costs wrote off. I could have and was ready to issue small claims proceedings but we came to an agreement which is not the best but probably the easiest for both. Which is why I’m now ready to buy scooby bits
Sounds a bit like mine when the cam tried to eat the engine case... have you done an autopsy on it....
No. That video was done tonight. I’m going to start selling bits off I’m not worried about stripping it. I’ve given up caring about it
