A small progress update... The interior is well under way, door cards are all stained and fitted. I ended up getting un drilled panels so I could riv nut all the original trim holes and use button head fixings throughout. Iv also just spent a small fortune on fabric and foam that has all been posted to Austin at waboo automotive. He trimmed the front seats and done a top job so I can't wait to pick up the cushions!! My brother in law Jon and myself have been slowly working out and building the rear Benches. It's been a mission working out the sizes so it all works well as a bed but still looks good. Starting to think I may need a bigger engine after filling the bus with so much wood!! Iv also recently been round to see Butty as he has the finished versions on the throttle kit....it looks the nuts!!! Flat pack The rear bench Jons been getting jazzy with the joinery! The throttle kit!!
I v just seen that kit on ebay looks amazing will be getting one for mine keep show the interior I'm about to start mine o and the bus look ok Just joking looks good
Haha cheers dude!! Yep it's a quality but if kit, feels super smooth by hand so it's definitely going to feel nice and light under foot. If I get a chance il fit it tomorrow
Cheers guys, really appreciate the kind comments I'm really happy with the seats, the material was a bit of a risk as we weren't sure how they were going to work out. It was a nightmare to get hold of and rather pricey when I finally found some. Unfortunately when I did manage to track the leather down the guy had very limited stock and there wasn't enough to do the rear seats as well.... It should still work out well tho
I fitted the new buttys bits Throttle kit on today! It looks and feels absolutely spot on. Really light and smooth under your foot. Massive improvement on the stock set up!! Here's a few pics.... For the time being my return Spring is just hooked onto the chassis. Butty is looking into making a little bracket for it so il wait and see what he comes up with. The accelerator cable is in the middle adjustment hole which is the same as the stock position. There's also two more holes so you can tweak it about If needed.
Nice one cheers dude I'm afraid they're not covers that you can buy. I found the leather I wanted and then I had them custom trimmed by waboo automotive.
New year, new update! Still slowly plodding along with the interior, it's taking shape but still away to go yet. Iv had a plan of what I want for ages so we're just kind of working it out as we go. I now have the cushions for the rear as well! I managed to get another leather hide the same as the front seats and I combined it with some chequered tweed material. So it's not all the same but the leather ties it all in. Again these were trimmed by Austin at Waboo automotive! Top Job! so far the seat trimming and the bus being painted are the only things that haven't been done in my garage Maybe next time haha Here's a few pics anyway
I can't remember the colour off the top of my head but il have a look tomorrow. It's just a normal gloss varnish from b&q tho.
