Westfalia interior formica dirt cheap and a good match!!

I flatly refuse to pay the stupid prices asked for by NLA VW for their formica sheets....2.4 x 1.2m for £199!!! and you have to collect if from Northampton....
So I went ferreting about, and after a while came across a small company in Tamworth who have this...

Colour is just about perfect, the small sample piece has a slightly heavier grain pattern but apart from that it's spot on.
You still have to collect it, but Tamworth is pretty central....
The sheet size is 3m x 1.2m and the cost is....

Always good to find sources for stuff, but maybe it'd be better if you didn't run someone else's company down at the same time.....

I just think NLAVW are taking the mickey with a product they don't even produce, just supply......
I know there's scene tax, but really....£199....
If I can find it for £40 a single sheet, then what are they paying for a regular bulk order?
You have to admit £159 profit per sheet is, to say the least, a little cheeky!

 

Why not just call it 'Bargain Corner' or suchlike....if the postings have supplier contact details then the older posts will still be relevant and it would be a good thread to trawl....

although, sometimes, the manufacturer won't sell small orders to customers..and you'd have to buy in bulk to get the price down.....I used to make flight cases and customers regularly wanted their own laminated ply, rather than standard diamond board....if we bought 100 rolls from the manufacturer it'd be peanuts for a sheet....if you bought 1 roll it could be three times the price....and that's at trade......

a lot depends on what stock they have and if it's a popular colour/pattern....

I bet its not that much of an exact match. Exact match when it was all new maybe, but not when the formica in your van has been bleached by the sun for forty years. Unless you redo everything then it gets really expensive
