I thought i had some spray glue but sadly not so i'll have to glue it at work on monday.

  3. seems a shame to waste the weekend gluing,

when ya can do it at work...:p

  4. Nice. Where have you put the speakers instead?

i haven't yet but will probably put them in the panel under the rnr bed.

  6. Is there room?

I only ask as I'm not sure where to pur mine.

Had 6x9's in the front of my old bed, byt the flappy down door on my new Westy bed doesn't leave much space

i don't have 6x9's i have 4 inch round in the rear and 6 inch round in the cab doors, they will fit easily but i know what you mean, the door is off centre and anything larger wouldn't fit.

I haven't got a photo but this is what i did. Removed the flappy door from the front of the RnR bed and put it safe in the shed. The hole left is perfect for speakers so i made a mounting plate from 12mm MDF. Cut speaker holes in this then screwed it to the RnR bed from the inside.

i did toy with removing the whole front and making a new panel 'cos who actually uses the flap? but considering the right side has a big hole where the american sockets were it's not exactly gonna spoil it if i cut another on the left side.

Bit of an update as it's quiet at work i've been tatting, moved speakers under bed, offside required a step cutting out of the bed.

I made a plug for the hole and laminated it to match then fitted it to the frame.
Then this is the front view, just gotta run a bead of silicone round the plug hole.

So, new side panel cut and glued together and fitted in.

Cheers, gotta admit speaker location makes all the difference people! when they were in the sides they vibrated and farted and sounded cack, now in a 12mm ply with in effect a big box behind them they sound 100x better. At the moment they are only 4 inch ones, i might invest in some slightly larger.

  14. Im liking the tinware mod to let the oil out ricky

lol, it may seem extreme but it will help for now and can easily be filled with rivets once i do the seals.

Very true. I used 4" speakers here and they sound amazing. Loud enough for me.

So that's it for a month, tax runs out today and unfortunately so did my Caddy so i'm sorned on the bus 'cos i can't afford 2 lots of tax today, was nice driving it this past few days but she's now inside again until the end of March, now i've finished playing around with the Caddy i'll use the next few weeks to do a bit on the bus, i've still got to change the starter i got to cure the hot start and also i'm going to attempt to try and stop the exhaust blowing from the head (unfortunately the head studs aren't great and i fear this may be a bad idea) i know you shouldn't use exhaust sealant but i've never managed to stop it blowing even with new copper rings and a nice flat mating surface so i think i might have to try a bit.......
