I'm not sure where you get your information from but we have this produced in a family run factory and we have spent a massive amount of time and effort getting our products to match as closely as possible.

If you wish to use the alternative Formica then that is your choice but to anyone with a knowledge of the Westfalias will spot the difference. I am not one to tell people how to build their vehicles but to me the differences between our westfalia reproduction veneers and that Formica is like comparing beech with oak.

If you wish to produce your own authentic veneers and undercut us then that is your choice as that is how business works but this is not comparing like for like and I seriously doubt you would be able to get your own veneers to market at the price we have done. As for scene tax, we are not a big brand who go about playing the "big I am" we are a small family based business who price things based on what it costs us we do not "take the mickey" but we are certainly not in a position to compete with a mass produced sheets that are vaguely similar. We pride ourselves on the accuracy of our product. If you are happy with a vague approximation then by all means go for the mass production Formica, if you want an accurate reproduction then feel free to contact us and we will happily discuss your requirements and offer you the discount that has been arranged for forum users

Please don't take this as an aggressive comment as that is not my intention but when you have your name dragged through the mud you I'm sure would be equally defensive

  2. Fair play to you sir...Can't fault a man in defending his livelihood.
Obviously, the proof of the pudding is how good a match the formica is.....
Would you be willing to send me a sample so I can try it against the interior of my 1979 Westfalia campmobile ?
I also have access to a westfalia berlin of the same year that I can also try for a match.

You already have my details in your database as I recently spent a couple of hundred quid with you guys for a set of curtains..

But to save you the time looking it up:
    Andy Woods
    74 Saxon Way
    Cotgrave
    Notts
    NG12 3 NX.

If it is an exact match, I may even end up buying a sheet for the more noticeable areas!

  3. Despite the lack of any samples of the 'superior' product I went ahead with some relaminating today using 'mass produced sheets that are vaguely similar'......

I'm quite happy with the result....I was even happier when I went to pick the laminate up and they said "The edges are a bit tatty on these sheets....I know you paid for 3, but take 6 instead!" Now debating as to redoing everything...

  4. In case you were wondering.....the vertical surfaces are original, the horizontal (cupboard and fridge lids) are the new laminate....

Hi, I'm very sorry that I didn't get back to you earlier but I have been offline for a week as I have had a major upheaval in my family life and whilst I am passionate about our products I am more passionate about my kids (everything is back on track and I have happy folks all around now)

It is a real shame that I missed this as it would have been great to get you a sample sent out so you could see just why we are so proud of the stuff.

That said, I am impressed with what you have done with the formica you purchased. You have done a good job with it and for those with the untrained eye it is pleasing enough. I think you have to be a bit of a geek like me to spot any serious discrepancies.

I'll apologise once again for my lapse in monitoring this thread (hopefully I will be back on the case now)
