Welding in Bus Boy adjusters

  1. ... and another UPDATE:

As of this past weekend (Jan. 6th.) I finished my Bus and drove it home. I did however discover a few things I need to address before she is pack in service!

    1) I installed a new fuel sending unit without the gasket... The smell of gas in the cabin warrants me to install the gasket.

    2) Headlight went out, so I need to address that. No worries there!

    3) Got a front end alignment today, but steering wheel is still not straight. That's my fault. I drove it on the rack and didn't have the wheel straight. No worries, alignment is warrantied.

    4) steering stabilizer is shot! Ordered, for $28 from Bus Depot.

    5) Battery is not charging well, I think its still under 3 year replacement warranty.

    6) I think a ground wire is off of the drivers-side (american) rear turn signal.

    7) Needs a deep cleaning.

Ok, ok... enough with all the nick-nacks! Here are some new pics of the Bus. I think once I installed the rear shocks, the Bus got even lower in the back!!! Front adjuster is now all the way down, and it seems to now sit even lower than before! It use to be slightly raked, but now sits pretty much even. My only real gripe is that I did not narrow the beam while I had it out of the Bus... May just have to do this again next year unless there is another way to narrow it?!? The ride is now very choppy! Not to choppy, but very choppy... Air ride will be in a few years so I think I can cope with this stiff ride.

Now, here are the pics!!! Enjoy, and please tell me what you think!!!

  8. Oh Man, Wide white walls , made from your current white stripe tires! Take a hand grinder and do it. It will be perfect for your "look". (take you about an hour and half). Do it, Do it!!! That and your disc conversion will work very well.

  9. To put the alloy arms in, you'll need to remove the A arm pivot from the torsion housing, and weld in some beetle ones (off the shelf IRS conversion ones)

Plus you'll need to modify the spring plates, but all do-able 8)
