Welding in Bus Boy adjusters

  1. Pics of me welding up my Bus Boy adjusters on my beam... The tough part was getting the beam out of my Bus! Everything runs through the beam...

Yes, everything is just tack welded to check for fitment. wanted to see how everything fit first. Adjusters are set in the middle in the pics below. I think I like how its sitting and tomorrow may be able to finish up my welds!

Here are some pics. I'll try to answer any questions you have!

  9. Quick question... what are the outer bit of adjuster made from? pressed steel??

Just asking as they look a lot like the "albatross" adjusters that I know were prone for breaking... but they were cast from memory...

  16. UPDATE: Had tack welded the adjusters on to see how it looked. Those pics are taken with it set on half! I'm pretty sure that's s low as I can o for now. Finished welding the adjusters in yesterday, now working on running everything back through the beam, mounting the brake booster, and shifter, tie rods, and steering stablizer. I'm hoping to have it all together by this coming Sunday late night! I'll take more pics and post tomorrow if the weather allows me. Suppose to get snow, ice and rain. emptied out my garage so I can pull the Bus in and work in the warmth of a wood stove. I have about a inch, maybe a inch and a half from the top of the tire to the top of the inner fenderweld. I also bough the lowered shocks from Bus Boys, so I'm hoping that the shocks, and stiffness of the ride keep my tires from rubbing the top of the inner fenderweld. Currently I have 195-70-14 on stock steel wheels. Lets see what happens.

Also, because this Bus has stock AC (not hooked up, or working yet) the AC parts run under the Bus. A buddy of mine has some left over 1/4 metal I can use to fabricate a skid plate. Pretty sure I will need it. Gonna somehow mount it to the front beam itself. Cant go without comfort.

Found some 944 non-turbo brakes, rotors, calipers, and master cylinder. Also found some 16" Fuchs with tires. Gotta find some money now!

  17. Kool!!! Keep the updates coming

  18. God doesn't like me very much... 33 degrees and 35 mph winds! It's freakin cold!!!
Hope to finish today/tonight. Between my wife, phone, and mother nature, not too sure I will make the deadline!

  19. Should be finished by this Sunday! Pics this weekend!!!
