Type 4 engine flaps , the small aluminium ones

cheers paul, bus is in store at work or i'd have looked, i'm sure it will be easy enough prob do at t/enders, might even fit my snail fan soon.

 

If you look at the picture of it fitted it is just a bit of 3mm rod , light tap in/out , no plastic but I've no idea if this is original but that's what was there ....

 

I reckon a cut up wire coat hanger will do the job?

no mate i took them with all intention but once i found broken head i figured might as well do with engine out now.

do I need these if I have a Porsche upright fan conversion?

 

No they are for a std fan shroud where the HXs join it

 

Thought so but wanted to check.

 

By the way i just remembered we went to fit mine when the engine was out but the part they hinge of on the top of the fan case has been removed on my van so i have no way of fitting them!

 

Why would someone remove those lugs ? Oh well sell them on .....

 

god knows mate, when the van had j-tubes on someone had made a full metal cap for each side of the fan housing to block it (and drilled a small hole in each one) i guess the hinge mount got in the way? i'm not running the snail fan anyway so it's not the end of the world i guess?

 

I've seen quite a few where they've broken off!! Either due to corrosion or chafing from loose tin!!
