Type 4 engine flaps , the small aluminium ones

There was a bit of call for these a week ago so I have for sale exact copies of the two small aluminium type 4 flaps that attach to the lower ends of the fan housing . Better pictures next week as these were taken last thing to prove the punch tool . They will come with the hinge ends formed . £15 inc P&P

For two such small items made from 0.5 mm aluminium it took a massive amount of work to make the multiple press tools needed . when you think the shear clearance is 10% of the metal thickness, this gives you a massive gap between male and female punch of 0.05 mm ...and both are different shapes.

lhu1281 you will be able to sell loads of these to the US market as well. they look excellent.

i cant remember if you can fit them with the heat exchangers already fitted?

Yeah you can, just unscrew the covers and they should be exposed

a pictorial "how to" would be good

 

mine came today lhu has done a fabbo job, anyone know what actually holds them in place - i'm guessing a pin almost like a watch strap affair? i can't recall if the holes go all the way through the case to allow a small long nut and bolt?

 

It's a plastic coated pin that pushes right through... something like some 2/2.5mm stainless round bar would work a treat

I'll have to have a measure and see what it's supposed to be
