Today is voting day!

  1. Hey up mate. You knew I’d show up at some point. Corbin is still an mp. Swinson isn’t! Simples. But yep, he needs to go..... 3 years ago would have been nice.

As for the message... well if you spend more significantly more than the amount of all the other parties put together on delivering your mess age then you’d hope it would have an effect. That plus the free support of the major part of the media in the country. I don’t support Jeremy, nor am I a fan of Momentum but I am a liberal socialist!

Not aimed at anyone but just a feeling I get from various posts is that it’s really not becoming or frightfully intelligent to counter rational comments about not liking the outcome by calling people remainders and suggesting people get over it or “suck it up” even if in jest. Some people actually cared deeply about the outcome. But it is right to say that labours downfall was its leader and the appalling way in which it made it’s decisions, Brexit being the main issue. Some polls actually show a majority in favour of remaining! The opportunity to defeat Brexit in joining with the other parties wasn’t taken by Labour when it was there. They wanted it both ways. To defeat the Tories and to keep its supporters onside on Brexit. They simply didn’t listen.

If you think it’s all very funny then frankly your a disgrace.(non specific again) I hold nothing against those who voted Tory but unless the Conservatives actually start to represent their new voters then they will be in for a rough ride. Though given their majority they may not give a toss.

I certainly hope this sees the demise of the far left and a new start for Labour. Not that I don’t agree with a great deal of their manifesto but because I know, as I always have that a hard left party is a minority party. Stick with Momentum and they can only be a protest party.

  2. I try nowadays to limit my posting on TLB and in particular politics, it is after all a classic VW forum. Didn't Milliband quit as leader straight away when he failed to win the election. So it's not that simples and all the bad press even from his own party should have shamed him to go. I hope there is a new start for Labour after all a credible opposition is an important part of our political system.

  7. For me the absolute highlight was jo swinehound loosing her seat.

she dared to think her opinion was just a bit more important than the electorate and got her arsed handed to her for it.

    love it.

I hope that’s a lesson to the whole lot of them but I somehow doubt it.

  8. Yes embarrassed ever since I ripped the heart out of my poor old bus.

Apparently the exit poll showed that it wasnt Brexit that turned voters toward the Tories, as McDonnell was banging on about, but Jeremy, plain and simple. He needs to show a bit of self awareness and go now. No need for any periods of reflection.

Anyway, I've just made Nutella pancakes for mini Tatty and I'm happy to make them for all the lovely folk on TLB.......even you Baz :D

I've just heard a recording of Jeremy Corbyn on the radio and he is blaming and I quote the gutter right wing media for labours defeat funny how the same gutter right wing media didn't effect Blair's run away victory in 1997, maybe you wasn't liked Jeremy

  14. Why this continuing discussion about Corbyn?

He is not popular with his Party or the electorate. He and Labour lost badly. He is not man enough to accept his failings. Maybe he will quit, maybe he won't, who cares? Labour will self destruct. Good, they are a bad Party.

The Conservatives are now firmly in charge for the next 5 years. Bring it on.

  15. Did you vote Lib Dem like you said you would?

I don't know where the gutter right wing media have come from but my Facebook has been plastered with abusive ultra left anti Boris hatefests and narey a Tory in site. And what with ultra remainer La Kuenssberg's anti brexit ranting, it's a wonder the Tories got any votes at all. From the media coverage I've seen, I would have predicted a hung parliament.
