Anyway, the country needed to get out of the mess of the past few years and hopefully with a big majority Boris can move us forward. We need to move on.

The old labour had its chance but the country has changed and people have moved to the Conservatives more now.

    Well done Boris.

I can’t congratulate Boris. His team did really well by keeping their message simple, having most of the right wing media on their side and not having Jeremy at the helm. Personally I am worried by the rise of the far right across the world, and by the rise of populist leaders, like Boris, the far right can latch on to. We’ll see how this all pans out.

Well done Jezza for handing it on a plate to Borris. Your core old labour support can't stand you and the new labour and have shown you in the only way that the party can take notice. It's taken this to get the message across! Labour hq, wake up, you've only got six years to get sorted.

  16. Thing is populist leadership is - popular. Lots of media and fringe politicians sneer and denounce it, but by definition is it not the popular viewpoints of the masses?

  17. A person of integrity would have immediately fallen on their sword ... according not Corbyn he's going to lead the party through a period of reflection at least Swinson did the right thing. You must wonder who is pulling the strings.

  18. No, that's the problem. To remain popular, the leaders have to find someone to pick on, to blame for their own failings, that's how it starts. We already know how it ends.....

In England it's blaming the EU, in Scotland it's blaming Westminster. What happens when we Brexit and there's no EU to left to blame? Who are the populists going to pick on next? You, me, the family next door?

  19. We knew Labour was getting desperate as they started showering us with a confetti of promises which could never be met. Labour lost badly, its their fault entirely.
