  15. Thanks guys

    Almost there :)

Gonna try windscreen again sunday. Bitch of a job not made easy by the bash shes clearly been in during her army days on the front right quarter so the windscreen surround is ever so slighty out if true. But the screen was in before, so it must be able to go back in!

  16. Primed up sliding door today, for some reason left it till last as well as the cab doors, they suprize u with thier weight first time u take em off!

  17. Ok well here we go with an update. Man flu and poor weather has slowed progress somewhat so today i decided to do some research into her history.

I purchased the van in aug 2008 from a young chap in ipswich who had owned it a couple of months and had only gone to bug jam in it.

It looks like he got it from a guy in leicester who imported it in early 2008 as ive found an old blog with a dead ebay link with my van for sale in aprill without uk plates

This is her original plate from sweden.

This is where the trail in the uk goes cold.

The last owner in sweden had her taxed in 96 according to the documents

So she was based in a town called pitea at that time.

Also she was owned by this fella

Now i know from the m code she was built for the north swedish army amd the Norrbotten regiment are based in Boden not far from pitea where she lived after her army life, although at the moment dont know when she left active service?

Now ive also found a pin badge in the cabin!

Now this pin badge is from a mini golf tournament from 1970 in the village of Kusmark. There is a website that lists all the players of that year from the tournament!!

    God i love google

So iam guessing one of the owners or soldiers liked golf!! And Kusmark is very near pitea and borden so it adds weight to my theory that she was based with the north army tank regiment.

This is a picture from the 1970 golf tournament

Maybe one of them was in my van?

Next i need to go through the name list againt my swedish reg paperwork to see if any names match!

Thats it for my research at the mo

Iam gonna try and contact some of these peeps in sweden nxt. What i really really want is a picture of her in her army days, a very difficult task but hey you never know

  18. What an awesome story... Let us know how you get on!

Think I'll do a bit of checking into KDM now #inspired!

  19. thanks

yeah its gonna be hard to track these owners down with the language barrier as well, luckily swedish peeps are civilized and speak english in many cases ;)

i do need to contact the regiment as they must have records of what vehicles have been owned/ decommisioned ect ect

ive got a feeling that Chris g's bus may have come from the same regiment as both our vans are 75 and have the same mods to the rear hatch with a bespoke rear wiper( since removed on mine )

  20. Contacting the regiment is a sound idea; they keep records of everything - so fingers crossed they may have an action shot to :)
