  1. Nice stuff what paint did you use

  4. Today we tackled the sliding door! basically we had one that came with the van that was badly repaired and was a panel van door and another from a factory bus that was rotted out at the bottom including the bottom frame so we made one good one out of the two!!!! the only prob we had was getting the contour perfect at the bottom when it shuts, its almost there and you can push it into a nice position but i suspect a combination of wear in the sliding mechanism and rollers may not be helping! what parts should i replace to get it wear free? it would seem everythings available but all very expensive!

  8. think you've got it to that stage in half the time its taken me ;D

how did you get on fitting the inner front valance in the end?? I've got a repro one that Im thinking of fitting but as its not the right profile it doesnt meet the lower front panel at the sides - did you make something up to fill the gap?

  9. Yes had the same problem, i phoned Schofields to see how they done it and i made up to small triangular fillets and welded them in, also done the same on the back where it meets the A posts i had to graft a section in, it came out fine in the end, i'm so glad i've finished the welding and theres no rot to find! once its painted i'm going to inject every orifice with waxoil so i never ever have to weld this bus again! but i diid kind of enjoy it!

  10. I did start to modify the one I've got to fill the back bits but then got a bit annoyed with it when I noticed the front profile was wrong as well  ....might give it another go :D

I'm also going to fill the bus with cavity wax when Im done ;D .....I found some good military spec stuff that I might buy .....or possibly some dinitrol ......or bilt hamber......or all three ;D

  11. Nice work. Love the sunvisor.

  12. Hi

we are fitting a westy window to the camper and i want to drill the fixing holes before its painted, i'm not quite sure how it was fitted and with how many screws, they would seem to tap into the section on the back of the window? can i still get a seal for the inside? i've ordered a kit for the rest of the seals.

    thanks

    Graham

yet again great work...I must admit that I wasnt a huge fan of the window visors but seeing Magical Trevs at Summer Camp & RTTH and now you have got one fitted, they look great

  14. cheers mate, coming together now at long last! we start prepping for paint on monday. I put the visor on to drill the fixing holes before paint, i must admit i really like the visor and think it really suits the van, with the polished westy window and a ali step on the otherside it should look very cool!

  15. very nice indeed mate :D

that polised window looks the buisness too 8)

I've just taken out my louver window - it was held on with 4 screws along the bottom, 4 along top and 2 on each side. They were self tapping scres through the wondow seal lip straight into the window frame. They look as if they were there from Devon conversions back when it was originally fitted

There was some one selling custom seals for them a while back, the seals covered the inside window appature as well as the outside, that way you didnt wee the screws from inside the van....think it was some one on earlybay
