Westy beds use 3'' foam. I used some medium density stuff and it's made a massive difference to the comfort. If you go any thicker I imagine it would be pretty impossible to get the original covers back on without damaging them. If your old foam is breaking down(highly likely) it's definitely worth doing and is pretty straightforward
Hold a minute yours is stained and @Chrisradioman ones are firmer and cleaner and you like brown vans mmmmmmmm
I know the first time @theBusmonkey had his done it was all done in the same depth and his rear cusion was higher than the rest when in the bed position!
Decided to tackle the buddy seat, the cloth is dirty and worn and the foam has turned to powder, also it now doesn't match the front seats. Took lid off. Started undoing the millions of staples and removed foam. Got some dark brown leather from an old sofa. Will sort the rest when I borrow @Moons staple gun. Onto the side armrest by the 3/4 bed. Same thing. Gonna redo this in westy plaid saved from my spare base. Again, need a stapler but also someone who can sew.......
found another champagne AUTO on the samba, never seen another auto, and this one is also from San fran where mine came from, wonder if they ever "saw" each other, i'm guessing they were from the same supplier? mental price though - i paid $7500 for mine this one is $18,000 just under 4 years since i got mine, have they really gone up that much? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1729530
i think the americans have got wise us stupid brits will pay over the odds...... i think i got mine just before they went silly, i look on the samba a lot and $7500 doesn't buy much now.
agreed, i know that at the time $7500 was "high" but comparing to now is what i mean you try finding a champagne for $7500 now, i was amazed that the one i linked is 18.
