    Magnum or Columbo?

  2. Well spotted,

As unobtrusive as Magnum in his 308.

    Fayle.

  3. Removed old fuel pump, fitted new fuel pump, changed fuel lines as one was braided style. Waiting on arrival of some brass connectors to connect them all up together to carbs. (Plastic t piece was used before and I'm not keen).
Changed oil as petrol had got in due to RHs carb flooding . Hopefully be able to test if my work was successful tomorrow (if the parts arrive).

  4. A nylon t-piece should be fine, if you're caught short.

  5. I'll keep it as a spare ;)

  6. Just started on my Jalousie window clean up / refurb. Lovely day to work outside but this job will take more than today as I polish the aluminium [IMG][IMG]

Very nice, but now you have done that are you going to get them anodized again so you do not need to polish them every time it rains ?

Straightened out the lower rear corner of the slider , looks like somebody had pushed it in with a bumper.
Probably at the West Dean Chili Festival yesterday. Fixed crack in paint and repainted corner.

Then decided to fit insulation inside the slider. Discovered it has been re-skinned in the past and there was a metal plate jammed in the middle held in with red oxide paint. Generally not rusty.
The bit of metal had popped out and dropped down. It was probably placed there to stop the skin rattling. So I gummed it up back into place with the final oozings of an old tube of Sikaflex (chopped the end off to get at the gunk inside) and then stuck some cheap aluminised bubblewrap style insulation on the inside of the skin and the hardboard sheet inside the bus.
Now the slider shuts with a nice clunk rather than a rattly bang.

    Fitted my door cards :)
Big thanks to @SweeneyTodd for his beautiful workmanship. Very happy!

But having battled with the invisible trim clips to do the front doors, I'm going to be screwing the rest of the trim panels in.
So whilst I'm here, does anyone have any advice on what to use? Not sure about just using normal screws with black plastic covers, so is there a smart way of doing it? Round headed screws with cups? what looks good?

Either dome headed screws or countersunk with cups for preference.

Thinking what to do to the pickup to accessorise it a bit, it's a blank canvas so after lots of deliberation I hit upon it !!

  16. Besides Never ending mech work

Scored this for about 60 quid ...

    Original deluxe bumper .!

Now to find the rear. ....o_O image.jpg

  17. Finished installing and connecting new fuel pump. Works fine.

Still got a flooding issue on RHS carb which I'm presuming is a sticking needle. :(

  18. Spun my oil filler neck around and connected the oil breather hose to the air box, should keep a cleaner engine bay now.

However, thank you to those late leavers driving up the A3 for the rolling car show :D
