If they have ceramic bodies then they wont melt at 8 amps. PS where are the red 16 amp ones ?

Yesterday. Put a C clip back on the end of the slowly disassembling throttle pedal hinge. Just tapped the pin back into the hinge then tapped the clip on.
    Fixed a rust blister.
Put a 10mm ratchet ring spanner back together and peened over the end of the bolt holding the hinged end on to stop it falling out.

Sounds like I might just as well have not bothered
Edit: ... see from this pic posted on the samba that the two missing fuses were indeed the two 16 amp ones .......

By that "not melt" I meant the plastic ones soften and the fuse body shortens and the fuse falls out when carrying close to its rated fusing current.

So they'll do the job then?

Not if they are carrying say 7 amps... and rated to blow at 8 amps. Then they get warm and the plastic melts rather than the fuse strip...

    Fixed a tiny exhaust leak.
Put a shim in the altermator Woodruff key slot because its knackered courtesy of a Taiwanese chrome pulley I used for a while as it was the least knackered old pullet I had ..before chucking it and buying an new stock type pulley...
and because of the worn slot, everything was clanking about at idle.
    Changed the fan belt.
    Gave up too hot.

Drove it 20 metres and it broke down.
    Not in France ...
I had knocked the contact breaker wire from the coil when I was poking around for leaks.
Two trips to the back as I missed it the first time as the connector had neatly hidden in the loom.
Arrived at the allotment, used the bus 600 watt inverter to provide 240V for the strimmer.
    Harvested crops.
Then down chip shop for fish and chips to eat on the allotment sitting on the camping chairs from the bus.

We're going on our first trip ... No camping, just driving and Airbnb ... One step at a time!
