  3. You've gotta have bad days to realise what a good day is ..

I haven’t posted here for a while!! The van has fallen down the pecking order, but I’m adamant she’ll be used this summer!!

Today I did an oil change, set the valves, changed the steering damper and swapped both steering arms for nicely painted ones :)

Have been trying to resolve some hydration issues in the rear... this is my second attempt at a cup holder that uses the table mounting points.

Some work to do on the top still. It’s also a little chunky, but matches the cup holders in the buddy box.

Have also resolved the parasitic battery drain... would anybody be surprised to find out it was a dead leisure battery?

  17. Well, that didn't go as planned. I refitted the carbs, checked the fuel pressure. Balanced them, and set best lean idle. Sounded much better, but still not perfect. Took it for a spin and the stumbling was worse, almost undrivable. I then decided to check the HT leads etc, and noticed the rotor on the pertronix had skid marks on it, and the sticker on the module was worn off. I decided to crank the engine with the cap off to see what's happening, and now I have no spark. Looks like the module has blown. It looks melted where the two wires go into the block. Maybe it was on its way out, and that has been the problem all along. Just ordered an svda with accuspark, as this is the second pertronix to fail on me.

  18. Did another coat of paint on the cab floor and engine bay.

Also found the N/S indicator wire broken, it broke where it used to have a scotch lock connection on it, so have ordered some black/white wire to replace that.

Got up did a random search on eBay and scored a rear bumper with only a couple of dents in it rather than rust perforation.
    So not welding that today.

Tried to switch on my 1968 Toshiba electronic calculator and it needs some TLC. PCBs have gold plated edge connectors, sockets are just tinned.

Spent nearly 2 hours actually cleaning the outside of the bus rather than just pressure washing half of Victoria Farm off the underside.

Used Sainsburys £2 oven cleaner on the alloys. ... gets rid of dirt but makes the surface oxide on the alloy go patchy.

Then painted a few bits of the bus where it needs it.
