  1. That looks like my Nan’s radiogram. Can you get the Home Service on it?

    Since TLB was down

Adjusted valves as it was popping more and more with throttle closed.

Bought a dented rear bumper on eBay , straightened it, painted and fitted it to give me time to do a better resto on the original bumper which is a lot heavier and stiffer, and covered in POR-15 which has either cracked when flexed or channelled rust from a damaged spot for about a foot.

Forgot to take rain covers off and got the engine up to 120 deg C. Discovered the electronic pressure gauge sender stops working that hot ( thats as specified ) and from the way the needle dropped on the gauge towards it tries to send negative oil pressures at idle. 0 PSI was about 1100 RPM. . Scary driving until it all cooled off by holding it at 2000rpm in traffic queues. As usual got stuck in a traffic queue on a motorway when I found out..

No damage done as far as far as I can tell as it still goes up gentle hills at 70mph.

After dicing with idiots on the M27 today ... idiots in the wrong lane at 50mph swerving without indicating into a lane moving at 70mph myself included in the bus ...

Made myself a high intensity third brake light out of 30 LEDS glued into holes drilled in some plastic clip together electrical trunking. Looks pretty home made but shows quite well from the bottom edge of the rear window. 20180603_164757.jpg

Today we went to work together, and came back together.

  11. How have you found that sound deadening over time?

  12. Hard to say, but at least as good as the manky padded thing I think. Certainly looks neater than a piece of warpy hardboard.

  13. Went away for a week in it, returned at the weekend having had no major issues. However, I have noticed a split in the inlet manifold rubber elbow on one side so have ordered new one and a couple of other bits - might just order the new cab door cards I've been promising myself for a while too, just need to decide on what colour.

  14. I haz new seats. Well, recovered old ones. No longer will my passengers have to sit on bare foam. Wasn't sure about the green, but it's growing on me - looks fine in sunlight. It's the white I can't get used to.

Ahh! "Snotty" ... Green stripes ... I get it

  18. That is exactly how Snotty the bus got his name. Sage Green is rather mucus-like.

Ours is "Elmo" being Elm Green, so I should have known!

  20. Nope. Named by my delightful daughter, who was about 14 at the time. The name stuck - I quite like it
