That's got me all warm and fuzzy inside What did you have to do to make them fit and do you have any clearance problems? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tyre size calculator This should help with working out what gain you will be getting by going up in size.
Not my bus but based on my experience fitting my caddy steels last year these are correct pcd and bore, offset and width should be fine too. Only mod you might need could be longer studs.
Hang on @zedders , haven't we had this conversation before and wasn't it postulated by some peasant that to increase road speed for a given rpm that the cooling would be effected. Incidentally. took my big tyres (on 14 inch rims) off cos it was noisy and didn't handle as well!
and would love to see pics of your bus and wheels, although I'm scared of getting too close to this and it becoming my next must have !
So @zedders what did you end up with? I have the same need as you in having larger radius rear wheels to reduce the revs / cruse easier, but there's too much choice and options to take in! What's the easy answer
I messed around with this for a few years on my Bay, First I put 15 alloys on with bigger tyres and it uprated my gearing by about 7 mph for the same revs, after a few years I wanted to put steels back on but couldn't find any decent alternatives that you can use your hubcaps on so I put bigger 205/14c van tyre's on my stock rims, it also uprates your gearing by about the same, they are cheap enough. stronger than 185's and look good, this thread shows you how they'd look http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/ive-finally-gone-and-done-it.48865/ ,
Yeah but, yeah but; a 205 on a 15 inch must have a larger circumference that a 205 on a 14 inch? So even higher gearing........ Or isn't it that simple
