I want a bit more diameter, but also want to retain commercial tyres so is 15" the only way? If yes, what works on a bay?
You can actually get commercial tyres down to a 60 profile - I've been hankering after a set of Merc alloys that I think would be in keeping with the 70's-ness of my bus, they're in 16", and to preserve the rolling circumference I think I'd be looking at a 205/65/16 tyre (only 14mm extra circumference). These are available in commercial rated. Edit: Rick beat me to it.
I put put some commercial 15" tyres on some alloy wheels once and the edges hit the outriggers as you turned a corner. Offset is all I expect.
Bad tyres I think, bit rusty in need of a clean and lick of paint, and not sure on offset, @rob.e should be able to say what the offset is. Think his were mercs if VW wheels. I will have a look when I get home, they are my mates.
These wheels I'm looking at are 49 offset, but they're 7.5j. I suspect that it may cause too many issues, but I can dream.
Ta matey, In short... Narrowed beam, centre boring, inch removed for fronts ( unbanded if you like), studs too short and skinny tyres. I'd like a solution that's bolt on. No workshop now.
