Suggestions needed for a quick release way of "bolting" a panel down

  1. I don't know how to spell it but I think they're called Zuse fastners.

    Like they use to hold fibreglass panels on race cars.

  3. They are 1/4 turn panel fixings ......I'll check what we have but they're from RS , I'm guessing 4 ?

  8. Expensive as well, i bought a T25 hatch and surround and that wont work either :(
     
  9. DZUS Fasteners will make a proper job. its the way to go.
    I would use mush screw head type as it going to be under the bed mattress.

  10. Dzus aircraft fasteners still had the own inherrent problems though and they aint cheap

    Why not weld it up, I can't see any need for it - they obviously couldn't have used an engine crane to get it in there.
    Take engine in and out like the rest of us do?

I'd be inclined to pop rivet/spot weld some flanges around the underside edges of the cut-out and make the access panel a drop in...drill and tap the flanges in the corners and one or two along each edge.....countersunk stainless machine screws to hold the panel down....this way, you could seal it with foam extrusion...foam would take up any minor variations

    y does it need to be quick release.....it'll be covered with flooring/carpet/cushion/luggage?
     
  18. Dont you mean Dynomat, closed cell foam, reflective insulation, plywood, carpet, cusion, luggage.......
