  1. Im looking to fix down a VW corrugated floor type panel as a hatch but i want a quick way of opening it, something better than self tappers, what type of fixings should i be searching for?

metal press studs? like what hold the curtains back in a westy? is this panel under load or just for access?

  3. Rivets with a rivet gun? Or rivnuts? Or a wild card option you could use heavy duty magnets to keep it in place then prize it open when needed?

  4. Its just for access but it needs to seal air tight - ish, its above the engine

  5. Fuel sender accesss?

    velcro tape?

  7. Size of it i would probably never get it open, that stuff can be tough

  8. Close but a bit bigger, there was a hole there but i riveted that panel in place, this is where they cut the floor about to get the engine in, i cant fit a proper hatch as it fouls the air filter

  9. Can you post some pics?

  10. ^this. Your tank compartment doesn't need to be airtight.

  11. put a rubber seal around the edge perimeter then use some fold over metal tabs

  12. You can get proper panel fasteners , we use them at work and I used one on my fuel sender ,....I'll find a pic

  13. bit out of date, but it shows what they cut out

  16. You should be completely fumeless, m'boy. If you're fuming, need to find out why.
