On a serious note. I'm keeping myself away from everyone in case she does bring anything home. Luckily we could self isolate within the same house, as we have 2 bathrooms & bedrooms.
We're a bit stuffed here living in a sewer tube, one gets it we both will. We're sanguine about that though not happy. If you or your partner are properly struck down with you'll have to look after each other, you can't just shut the door on them.
Some food for thought here, thanks! I lived on a boat when I was younger, like camping year around. They had very few live aboard slips, we would help our dock master prepare for heavy weather etc when needed. I can only imagine what some of you are going through. I work caring for DDI and autistic people and the kind of hygiene needed for anything like this is so challenging to be almost futile. Between other staff and our consumers it seems like we pretty much get what ever is going around. As essential I'll have plenty of work if I can manage to stay well.
As my wife will have to go to the hospital and work every other week, we have discussed routines hand washing etc for arriving at home, she's not frontline at the moment but even so I suspect our chances of getting it should be higher than average. We are being very cautious as we don't want to pass it on to others including elderly parents. I suspect we could just about live separately in the same house. I remember in our last house when we had the bathroom out I used to go and shower using a bucket of water in the garden, doing the same now would solve the single bathroom issue
Ive been following one of the NC500 Facebook pages for a while now and the abusive posts showing up on there is beyond belief, I am staggered at some of the comments people are making towards others. It goes to show the nastiness around.
North Coast 500 (the route around the perimeter of Scotland, the group covers wild camping, normal campsites, places of beauty, pubs (most important) and really nice local places to visit, have a snack or meal at etc. We're planning a three week trip next year
why would you want to discuss corona virus on a forum about a drive round Scotland ... the best place to panic buy maybe?
it all stems from folk wanting to self isolate up there and carry on as normal, I get why but the lack of common sense and respect for the next person has gone totally out of the window leading to abuse..endless abuse. Ive just been on and hostile posts are being deleted.
We're not on proper boats, more like a luxury floating skips on the canals. Well the monkeys and I are, I don't know about Pickles, didn't know he lived on a boat. DDI?
Its from people saying they are heading up regardless, people saying they don't give a toss about the restrictions, common sensed folk saying the obvious - what if the selfish are carriers and do more harm than good, they have been getting abuse. The group has been archived now, sadly
Sadly there are some proper knuckleheads around, the “well no one’s telling me what to do” sort. Un-be-fudging-lievable.
You know what? I think these bravado sod the restrictions types are actually peeing their pants and scared sh1tless. They're talking themselves into action because they are scared and don't know what to do. Or on a wind up. Now if I was seriously considering creeping off to the middle of nowhere to escape the zombie overlords I'd do that - creep off quietly and hope nobody noticed, probably feeling ashamed. I definitely wouldn't be sitting on the internet telling the world and arguing about it. If they really don't care what anyone else thinks why are they doing this? So they are trolls or frightened. Sorted. I should have been a psychologist.
All sorts of rural areas are getting packed out with people on day trips and campsites are as busy as bank holidays My daughter was showing me snapchat stories last night of people having corona parties and a pub in masham was offering free drinks telling people to come and drink them dry. I can’t believe people are not taking this seriously Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Masham... been there! Abseiled down the Buttertubs as part of some training for a national young employees competition during my apprenticeship many years ago... I remember it fondly.... did some potholing whilst we were at it.... good times!
