What sort of publican could stand to pour all his or her beer down the drain, which is probably illegal anyway! What brit can refuse a free ******* up. We're doomed! But you already knew that. You of all people should be ready for the zombie apocalypse... maybe you are...
Boris mentioned a figure of 75% compliance the other day. That’s what they must be using in their modeling. I’m guessing that they were estimating less than that were complying with the advice without the actual forced closure of pubs etc. Hence the next step that we had yesterday. Our local cafe was doing takeaway only today. People were stood in a group chatting while they ate and drank. It’s pretty depressing.
I’d rather it be zombies than this at least you could see the threat. This was taken in malham today(not by me) A field full of cars all come for a nice day out I’m reading reports of tourist spots in the dales been packed out with visitors It seems people are treating being off work as a holiday. The Gov and medics said go for a walk to entertain yourselves so now the countryside is going to be trampled by any and everyone all at once for a while. I bet every one of those people set off thinking they had an original idea, were surprised and annoyed that everyone else had the same idea and will now think twice. You'd be amazed how many people think "Narrow Escape" is a witty and original name for a narrowboat, there are scores of them. I wonder what they thought as they noticed the first "other" narrow escape. Doh? It'll calm down to normal levels and if it doesn't, most people won't get much more than a few hundred yards away from their vehicles.
Some will be on a wind up mission, others possible boredom, who knows! Maybe you have a new sideline to keep you busy
No I don't live on a boat, but we have a yacht ... bought in the period since you've been away from here November 2018. Being 25 years old its a bit like the camper van spend my life doing little and slightly bigger jobs on it, and putting right the things previous owners have meddled with, in other sense when its all mad here at home its somewhere to escape for the day, like a floating shed. It takes me back to my youth as a shipwright apprentice and then my days in the navy drawing lines on charts, cleaning and more cleaning and shouting at people not necessarily in that order. Loving it so far.
We last went to Tescos on Monday - managed to get milk bread and bog rolls - bus is not getting much use - only been out in it once this year - although might take it out this weekend as it looks to be sunny - sorry to hear that scousers are complaining about your early rising habits
That’s...ridiculous. Whitstable beach today was the same apparently. People just think it’s a holiday, as you said. Johnson has got to put some firm rules in place, not waffle about uselessly, asking people nicely. He’s wasted enough time.
I don't think any escape to the country camping will do any good....this thing is going to be everywhere.... I live on the south lake district =1 died yesterday and another critical . It will get worse quite quickly and many people will suffer even campers and the couple of hospitals we have in this area will not cope with extra cases so think about others as well as yourself stay at home.
I note the national trust is closing it's outdoor spaces today. Good! All this "from Monday" type gov advice - don't wait, what they really mean is NOW or even better "last week".
we started social distancing last Monday, some people still don't get it I've just been called a d*ckh**d on a facebook sailing forum by a guy who thinks it OK to go sailing with his mates.
Pr4t, him, not you obviously . We have no sailing here for the foreseeable so I will have to wait a bit longer to do my level 2.
