Permanent I think but some cars like the Honda CRV they have a system where the 4wd only kicks in when needed . Are you going for the manual or Auto ( DSG) ?
This one looks good if I go newer and pay more Low mileage though and Skoda service history and cam belt done Is the ad blue really trouble free on these? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-de...=200&transmission=Manual&year-to=2017&fromsra
I suspect adblue is never 100% on any model, same as any issue. I guess it’s just those 1/1000 chance of a problem. I’ve had 2 cars with Adblue and not had a problem.
Some cars seem to have no end of problems with the adblue systems where as others don’t seem to suffer I’m just trying to be careful
We've had a couple of cars with Adblue and also at work some vans and it's never been an issue. MrsNtfc manages a fleet of trucks(about 85 of them) that use it with no problems as well. I wouldn't worry about it.
Yeah generally non Adblue diesel vehicles are charged. I noticed they’re a bit cheaper than Adblue diesels to buy.
Only had a handful of cars with ad blue issues and They were Audi's , old high miles focus and a elderly Peugeot 206 with the strange additive in a pouch .Do not worry about Ad blue but like someone else said diesel do not like shirt journey and soot up the EGR valve .
If they have the same system as VW and Audi, which I assume they do - they are Front Wheel drive permanently, and I believe an active diff will sent 20% is percent to the back if they slip. These are pretty good on wet fields and light snow - but a G Wagen or Defender they are not, there is no selectable diff locks - I don't think they even have an LSD. Having owned a 2wd Tiguan and her indoors owning a 4 Motion DSG Tiguan right now (and having owned 2wd and 4 Motion Passats and Quattto TT's and A3's) I'd nominate that the benefits are negligible - if you live on unsalted C roads - there might be some benefit - but anything more and its Tyres tyres tyres and the drivers ability. These are not snowdrift/muddy field eaters. The price you pay for 4wd is at least 20% worse fuel economy. One of the cars I regret selling most is a 2012 plate 2wd Tiguan with tiny wheels and big tyres - the most pothole proof car I ever owned - 50+ mpg everywhere and not a terrible handling car. I did look at Yeti's and think they are a great big of kit.
Mine has hadn't any add blue problems in 2 and half years. I just make sure I keep it topped up when the warning light shows. Take a 2.o tdi dsg 4x4 for a test drive. You'll be convinced.
I know some V6 TDI VW Toureg's and Amrocks have know AdBlue issues.....as well as coil pack issues! Never heard of any on the 2 liter 4 cylinder VW group TDI's.
I work for local council in light vehicle work shop. Big Adblue problems with Peugeot/Citroen. Renault/ Vauxhall ok until you let them run out then sometimes can’t be reset. I know of lots of people getting the system programmed out but this is probably illegal.
It is illegal. We decided against it as it is part of the criteria for avoiding ulez charges so I guess if you’re caught the fine might be hefty!
