Skoda yeti

  1. Does anyone on here own one or had one before?
I’m thinking of getting a 2014 plate one as I believe adblue came in after that.

I haven't owned one, but I know a few people who do.
They all love them, if that helps!

    Why you worried about adblue?

  4. Indeed. Bit odd.

Reminds me of the time everyone wanted to buy cars pre DPF.

I don’t own a car that needs it, but a friend that runs work vans reckons the price decrease for fuel has been offset by the hikes in ad blue.

Honestly, you’ll probably only use about 10-15L every other year or so.

Don't know, just relaying info - I guess his vans do a lot of miles but he tells me the price has doubled for no reason he can fathom

  9. It causes problems and yes I’m one that bought a pre dpf car

I wouldn’t say doubled but in the last 6 years it’s probably gone from around £7 to £10

  11. I look after a few and nothing really stands out apart from having to do the cambelt which are a bit of a pain and we did have one with a rear axle problem (locking up and crabbing when maneuvering on full look) . I personally prefer the small engined petrol version . Also if metallic paint just check around front of roof for lacquer peel . Much prefer the Yeti over the Audi A4 but the Diesel passat 2ltr are good but sadly quite popular with Taxi drivers so prices are high .

I’ve had adblue for 8 years and no issues in that time at all. All the vans at work have adblue and again no issues.

I’m sure some will have issues, but no worse than a typical breakdown.

    I wouldn’t worry about it.

  13. Cheers:thumbsup:
What makes the cam belt a pain?

    Fair enough.

Maybe @paradox simply doesn't like synthetic pigs P**s?

  15. Yeti's seemed expensive when they came out..

  16. Funnily enough I’ve probably handled more of the stuff than any adblue user
We used to spray it on the taxiways on the airfield to de ice them.

  17. Ad blue not issue apart from the newer Audi A6 (2017 onwards) that has a device/system with a reluctant tank (??) .We have sent two to Audi and £2k later the problem has been resolved. Audi and Mercedes are way too complicated and troublesome.

  19. They seem expensive now but appear to be well loved by sensible older people and seem to hold their prices well
I looked at one today at 14k for a 2014 plate and someone else bought it whilst I was looking at it
They didn’t even test drive it.

  20. I think that was glycol, not formaldehyde.
