Still loads to do but this was a mega start and now feels like we’re on the home straight and that it’s actually going to work with the auto box

  4. Couldn't resit could you @pkrboo

    Fair play to you!

  5. Brilliant - although i suspect @pkrboo is using his undoubted knowledge to his own ends and using your van as a
    test bed

He`s seeing if works on an autobox with a view to converting his own ...

    I felt his clutch - it`s a REAL mans clutch :D

  12. Haven't filled up again yet as previous fillups were only park yfilluos. But I am guessing roughly 28-30mpg I think.

  13. Top work - that engine block gets about doesnt it!!
You're ahead of me now, im struggling with the 5 speed box and getting the shifter attached!
Having to get involved in some fairly significant mods for it to fit!
You will be blasting along on Scooby power in no time

Little bit more done tonight. Cable extended and water pipes for air inlet extended. I don’t think I necessarily needed to but if it was there in the first place....

So my thought process is now...

Get the cam belt cover replaced (part of it broke)
    Get the exhaust fitted
    Then do the water pipes
    Then electrics
    Then any other tinkering
Then fire it up and see what happens.

Slow progress but please with how it’s going.

So this weekend I started going about fitting the exhaust, started Friday about 7 and as the wife went out, I stayed out in the garage until about 11

I used a bracket given to me when I brought the exhaust but after trial fitting it didn’t fit it needed stretching out, had a thought and got the jack on it and bent it outwards. However it was sitting the back box too high... took me all bloody evening to get this far

    It looked simple enough...

.... as I wasn’t happy with it, it all came off Saturday morning and I went about fabricating my own longer version so the box could be hung lower, off to wickes, a bit of tubing and then to my local friendly garage to weld it all up a bit of spray that I found in the garage and it fitted a treat.

It worked a treat and I’ve got plenty for adjustment.

It might need to go a little higher!

That took me all day, with breaks in between.

Today I fitted the water pipes to the rad. I copied Matt and purchased some T25 pipes, cut them up and made them fit. Will need to get some pics.

Feel like I’ve done quite a bit but not much to show for it

  17. What exhaust is it that you have used ?
And how have you reversed the throttle body ? what is that spacer ?
I thought you had to use a reversed manifold if the idle control valve was part of the throttle
    body.
    Cheers

    Hi.

I managed to get hold of a RJES NOS exhaust, no longer available

To reverse the throttle body I used a throttle body reverser also from RJES. you can reverse the manifold but then I think you need to do some jiggery with alternator.

  19. I thought you had to use a reverse manifold for the later type .
Unless RJES just haven't updated there site and now do the one you have used .
    Thanks again.
