Fine until you want to turn it back to a seat, then it's lean right over and pull up the back to get it started? I can do my westy hinged one with one hand standing outside the door. Rock AND Roll.
Just to clarify, this has to bolt in to the floor before I put the ply floor in? I'm guessing it won't line up if I install this after the floor has gone in?
Should be like this once installed... That's a rusty lee RnR bed btw, but essentially the same as yours
them brackets bolt on to a bit of plywood only one at the back and ply bottom they are not the same as the frame beds you are looking at as i have them here for sale but you need two feet on the base what you are missing
I would have thought a man of your fine stature and athleticism would have no trouble operating such a device... Westie ones are good also...particularly for people of advancing years
I expect you're right, I have a bad back. Leaning over and lifting is well known for back jipping. I had a Devon bed identical to the OP's but added westy hinges to it later as they're so much better. I also chopped off those silly drop-down supports that always drop down and get jammed, remodelled them and welded them in place - again westy style. Sorry to say that in the world of RR beds, the westy is king.
Hmmm? Chop and weld...or 75pence for four new roll pins? The supports on mine (Rusty Lee) are welded...great for crushing anything you pack under the seat...poorly thought out IMO
